Interesting First Day

After Jada spent the first 5 minutes with Brandi, I took her and we headed back to our hotel. Jada kept this face for a long time. Not really sure what's going on, being cautious, but brave. She was a trooper!

This is later on in the evening. Jada is pretty much stuck on Brandi. I tried to take her a couple of times to give Brandi a break and she didn't like that. She's an strong headed little thang.

This is where it gets funny. Jada has been VERY reserved and she's not eating. She's very cautious and not venturing out much. We celebrated when Brandi read her a little book and she pointed and touched one of the Lady Bugs in the book. That was a big step out for her. So we were only able to get her to eat Cheerios, about half a cup full. She wouldn't take a bottle. Well, she was 2-3 hours past her feeding time and we were worried. Brandi made a "Command Decision" to force her to take a bottle. It was rough going from the opening bell. Brandi went straight at Jada, Jada showed great bottle defense. But, in the end, Brandi wore here down and Jada gassed out because obviously, she needs work on her cardio. Well, the joke was on us. That bottle was about 300mL. She only takes 200mL. So, Jada gave an offering from the overflow of her........ stomach. Yes, Jada yakked on the cute little PJ set we had put on her 5 minutes prior.

After that interesting battle, Jada's demeanor changed a bit. She seemed to be calming down. It's that or she'd tired from puking 100mL of formula. I'm no pediatrician, but I'm going witht he former. Brandi rocked her to sleep and we put her down. She's out for now...

and so are we!!

Today was a great day!! Happy Anniversary Brandi! Happy Homecoming Jada! God is good!

I feel like this is a perfect time to give a good shout out to say how this is a perfect picture of how God adopts us into His own family!! What a mirror image of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ!!

I firmly believe that you get a whole new perspective on that scripture (Ephesians 1:5) and what He did for us when you adopt!

Brandi and Gered you are awesome and Jada is absolutely beautiful and absolutely your very own! Praise God!!

wow, she's beautiful! Oh I am so excited for you! I can ony imagine how extremely happy you guys are.
Don't worry abotu er eating, I've had plenty of pediatritians tell me that a child WILL eat when they have to. Your decision for her will ultimately be the best one because a parent's got insticts and now you're parents. ;-)
Love you and reading daily,

The first thing this morning Me, Jason and Bayli were all crowded around the computer checking out the pictures- of course I was a basket case crying. Then the computer freaked out on us and this is the first time I've been able to comment! Anyway- she's beautiful! I'm so happy for you guys! You all look great together! She just has no idea how much her little life is going to change and will be so different! Can't wait to meet her!

PS- I woke up about 4:15ish this morning and said a prayer for you guys before falling back to sleep- but didn't actually get up and check the computer. Missed out! :)
